Situated on a bucolic estate on the bluffs of the Wisconsin River, Wollersheim Distillery expertly distills fine spirits crafted with homegrown and locally sourced ingredients.
Their distinguished line-up of spirits merits a trip to their grand tasting room, where you can step back in time and experience spirits created on land that has been producing brandy since the 1870’s. Originally crafting just brandy used to fortify wines created in their vineyards, production ceased at the turn of the century and was on hold due to state regulations prohibiting wineries from also distilling until 2009. Wollersheim wasted no time and immediately purchased a copper still and began distilling top-shelf quality spirits, including brandy made with Wollersheim’s own wine.
On weekends, take the guided tasting tour which enables guests to sip spirits as they enjoy a trip through the distillery and get up close with the stills and distillation process.
Wollersheim utilizes Wisconsin’s varied climate to create the best conditions for distillation, and in the process creates a product uniquely Wisconsin. Distilling Wollersheim spirits takes 2-4 years or more, and is a treat worth waiting for.
Wollersheim Distillery produces brandies, gin, absinthe, whiskey, and bourbon. In their on-site gift shop, you are able to purchase any of their spirits, as well as glassware.
